Putting the Mermaid tail on and taking it off, Safety and Care, and how to enter and exit the pool. Photo Shoot, involving various Mermaid poses. How to warm up ready for a MERMAGICAL Mermaid Experience. Basic swimming techniques, Mermaid Breastroke, Treading, Dolphin Stroke, “The Star” (Back Float). Transition and some under water fun, including finding treasure and marine life under the water.
The lesson will end with a small de brief including some ocean awareness education, safety advice on using Mermaid Tails when not at the academy and awarded with a One Star Certificate.
Level 2 Star
Intermediate Mermaiding
Level 2 Star Certificate will be held over a series of weeks or over a series of days and will come with a brief including what we will be doing on each Mayim Mermaid Lesson.

“No moon rings yet” for you H2O Just add Water & Mako Mermaid followers. However you will be learning some new mermaid moves and techniques. Having completed Level One Star you will now be ready to learn more Mermaid skills.
Including:
- Bubble blowing.
- Breathing techniques.
- Choreography including making up your own basic routines, linking moves & video analysis.
- Handstands, rolls
- Under water poses and Photo’s
You will be encouraged to do a Mini Beach Clean (under supervision and safely) or to join a Surfers against Sewage Beach Clean/ Mermaid Beach Clean.
You will be introduced to Coral Planting and the importance of preserving Coral Reefs around the world.
On completion you will receive your Level Two Star Certificate.
Level 3 Star
You will have completed Level 2 Star, to attend this course. Working towards Shallow Water Mermaid Instructor and Assistant Mermaid Instructor. This will be held over a series of weeks or over a series of days and will come with an Advanced Mermaiding guide, including what we will be covering on each Mermaid Lesson.

It is recommended you working towards your Pool Lifeguard Qualification at this stage. (advice can be given regarding courses near you). (SSI, RLSS, STA)
If you have a valid Lifeguard and safeguard certificate on completion you may be able to assist in a group lesson’’s with a Trained Mermaid Instructor.

You may also wish to join FreediveUK on a Professional Mermaid Course or Training Holiday. Freedive UK was the first Freediving and Mermaid course in the UK and has trained various professional Mermaids.
(Mermaid MerShell continues to train with them on her Freediving journey).
All students can purchase an IMSIA Identification card.
IMSIA will then recognise your achievements and have you on their global Mermaid Certification records.

Mermaids and Mermen must be alee to swim at least 25 to 50 Meters un aided and with out stopping.
Tread Water in both the shallow and deep end.
Turn 360 degrees in the water.
Back Float (Star) and transition to Front Float.
Front Float transition to Back Float.
Able to swim with-out an aid and confident in going under water.
Confident demonstrating Breast Stroke Arms and Dolphin legs.
Although we take a step by step approach to using Mermaid Tails.
Safe Mermaid Swimming as our main priority.
